Here at Treasure Hunt, we don’t have that many employees because we want as much money as possible to go to the New Life Beginnings Women’s Home, that’s why we love volunteers! Here are the top 10 reasons you should consider volunteering with Treasure Hunt or anywhere else in your community.
#10 It’s Good for You
Volunteering makes it easier to focus on others, and exports say that can help reduce stress! Less stress means more joy and being happy is great for your immune system!
#9 It Saves Resources
Like we mentioned before Treasure Hunt donates all proceeds to a non-profit organization that assists pregnant women and their children. Us, and other organizations like us, require volunteers to help meet our goals and fulfill our mission of taking care of the community. If minimum wage is $8.00 and a volunteer works for 3 hours, ultimately that’s $24.00 that can go directly to the Women’s home and every cent counts!
#8 It can Help your Career
If you don’t have a job, volunteering allows you to test one out. You can learn important skills like organization, pricing and how to run a cash register. Even if you do have a job these skills will improve your work quality all around!
#7 It Establishes Strong Relationships
Meeting people through volunteer work guarantees you will have some type of connection, whether you love to voulunteer, you’re passionate about the cause or maybe you hear about the opportunity through the same service or person. This can relate back to helping your career if the person your working along side has knowledge of opportunities you wouldn’t otherwise know about! A lot of the time it’s now what you know, its who you know!
#6 It Makes You a Better Person
Not only will volunteering affect your health positively it can help your emotional and mental state as well. Personal growth is achieved through experiencing empathy and self-efficacy! You will get to know other volunteers, what the cause is all about and if well help you get to know yourself better too!
#5 It Strengthens Your Community
Of course these volunteer opportunities are here to support a greater cause. At Treasure Hunt we are supporting less fortunate mothers and their children to give them all a better and safer life! Other opportunities help to improves schools, support the youth and make your community beautiful! Society is always grateful for the help.
#4 It Teaches A Lot
Not only will you learn more about yourself, but you will also get a better sense of how this section of the government works as well as the community! What resources your area has or doesn’t have, what can be improved and what some major problems are that non-profits have to work with.
#3 It Offers the Chance to Give Back
In our busy lives sometimes we take for granted the opportunities we have. By helping a clean up crew we can better appreciate our beautiful parks. By working at a food bank we appreciate the meals we have at our own tables. It’s all about perspective!
#2 It Encourages Civic Responsibility
Civic responsibility the social force that binds you to the courses of action demanded by that force. It is a core element of a democratic society. If there is an issue, it is the responsibility of the areas citizens to address and take action to change it!
#1 It Gives You a Sense of Purpose
You are important! In this world of 7 billion people you may think you are small and insignificant but that’s untrue! You matter and you make a difference. Every person counts not matter how small the contribution they make, so remember that!
