Project H.O.P.E. is a community outreach program sponsored by New Life Beginnings that provides individuals with job skills training and work experience. It is free and available to anyone that is 16 or older and is looking to gain the knowledge and skills needed to find and maintain a job. The program is 5 hours a week for 5 weeks in the classroom, along with additional time volunteering in the store to practice the skills they are learning. Students volunteer their time for 3 weeks after class to work in the store and gain as much real-world experience as possible prior to graduating from the class.
Students attend classes led by various professionals in the industry who teach them various job skills. The class covers topics such as budgeting, math skills, cash register skills, customer service and communication, interview skills, and resume writing. The knowledge that these professionals are able to teach the students is priceless.
